Eco chic is an expression
more and more used in our western societies.
Eco chic is a combination of fashion and, social and environmental
responsibility in our consumption.
Indeed, nowadays consumers are more and more aware
about their consumption.
We can hear some people saying that consumers have now
“a green conscience”. This expression means that they are looking for a
responsible purchase in terms of environmental impact and social impact. Eco
chic includes as well the recycled goods, the second hand concept, the
naturally replenished products, the organic materials, and the carbon neutral
consumption, as the fair-trade, the tailor-made, the craft industry or even the
vegan products.
The eco chic concept is not only
about clothing, it can be extended to all products that can be consumed and
with which you want to be trendy.
Eco chic is a whole mentality led by blogger
communities, specialized press, individuals interested in the green debate.
Moreover the major players in this field of eco chic
tendency are the companies. Indeed, in the way they choose their suppliers and
their supply chain processes, these companies will be eco chic or not.
To conclude this introduction about eco chic, we can
underline the fact that both consumers and companies are involved in this
“green concept”.
