The International Organization for Standardization
(ISO) launched the development of the future International Standard giving
guidelines on Social Responsibility: ISO 26000.
ISO 26000 is not a certification or a contract
contrary to ISO management system standards. It is not appropriate to regulate
or penalize companies.
It is intended to any kinds of organizations, which
are not forced to use it, just encouraged.
Ø What
are the objectives of the ISO 26000?
- Help
organizations to operate in a socially and responsible manner.
- Provide
guidelines on how to get Social Responsibility.
- Help
companies to identify and engage stakeholders.
- Help
companies to highlight performance results.
- Enhance
customer satisfaction and trust.
- Establish
coherency with other ISO standards.
The guidance standards will be published at the end of
2010.
